DIY Haircuts

When our friends Mark and Maryellen lived nearby Maryellen, who is very skilled at children's haircuts, would often cut the boys (maybe just the older one's) hair. Now that they have relocated to Florida, we have to make do with local barbers or we sometimes take matters into our own hands. It is usually passable by our standards and it usually looks better than just before we cut it, but it never looks as good as when Maryellen does it.

I usually think the kids won't know the difference between a good haircut and a bad one. As long as the hair is out of their eyes I'm happy. On the other hand judging from the young one's expression in the picture I think he may have an understanding of the injustice being done.

By the time they are old enough for their friends to notice I hope we have had enough practice to spare them any teasing. I know... unlikely.
