By the time we made it to
Underwood Family Farms in Somis, the blueberry season was on the wane. The slim pickings were still quite delicious.
Strawberry picking definitely sustained the interest of my sons more. The bigger the berry, the fuller the bucket. Although the little guy's bucket remained equally
empty.
Critter friends were made, like the lizard roaming above and the carrot gobbling sheep in the farm animal area. We'll be back for blueberry picking next year. However, we'll visit at the start of the season. An Underwood employee said the first two weeks are the best times for harvesting. The bushes are laden with berries that drop like a waterfall into your bucket with a light touch to the clusters.

Thanks for the post/tip. We missed this year's harvest but hope to make it next year. Love the hat.
