Eric is a really sweet guy. Back in December, he gave me this mill
for my birthday. I use it to mill non-wheat grains and beans. In the past, I've milled amaranth, garbonzos, lentils.
This weekend, my sweet miller and I restocked our larder with sweet rice and tapioca flour.
I've seen hand crank mills and ruefully admit I'd be a lot less ambitious if I had to mill this all by hand.

I have a hand crank mill and while I keep it for any times that I might not have electricity. I'll stick with the electric version, thank you very much, until there's no other choice.
ReplyDeleteKathie, I found this mill for you: Country Living Grain Mill. It can convert easily to electric. It reminds me of a story my father told me. His family had a grinder/shredder for vegetables. He got so tired of hand cranking it, he rigged it to an electrical source. The first time he shredded horseradish, it shot all over the ceiling it was so powerful.
